1. Don’t Diversify

I read a lot about how diversification spreads your risk and it does, but it also cuts your profit potential.

If you are trading currencies and you are a small trader (under $50,000) diversification will simply ensure that you dilute your profit potentia,or worse help you lose.

When you see a trade that looks good (in line with your trading methodology) hit it hard and risk as much as you can.

You will hear a lot of advice saying you should risk 2 – 5% well you won’t make money that way! risking 5% on a $10,000 account is $500.00 and that wont get you much in the way of open positions.

Risk up to 10% and have the courage of your conviction.

Many currency traders try so hard to restrict risk, they never make any decent profits, as they place their stops to close.

This means they are bumped out of good trends even though they have the direction right, by normal volatility.

This is an error most novice traders make - they need to study standard deviation, but most don’t even know what it means and they should - look it up and understand it fully if you want to trade successfully.

Don’t make this mistake.

If you think the above sounds risky it is – but currency trading involves taking calculated risks.

If you don’t like risk then don’t trade currencies.

2. Be Patient

If you are risking more per trade and not diversifying, then you need to be very selective in the trades you take.

Patience is the key.

Many FOREX traders think the more they trade the greater their chances of success, but the opposite is true.

You don’t get rewarded for how often you trade - you get rewarded for getting your trades right.

3. Trade In Relation To What’s In The Bank

Judge progress by what’s in the bank.

If you have had a good run you can afford to be a bit more aggressive (if conditions are right) and risk a bit more.

Generally, try not to have too many open positions, once you hit target bank and move on, this keeps you focused and is good for confidence.

Personally, I like to have only one or two trades open at any time

I will then shift position size and risk depending on how well I am doing.

It’s always easier to risk profits you have made than your own cash.

So there you have 3 tips to make money fast in currency trading.

Many currency traders will see the above is risky, but that’s the nature of currency trading:

Taking calculated risks when the conditions are right and waiting patiently for them.

Its logical and can and does make money fast.

Perhaps the single most common influence on the daily market is that of economics within a given country.

Simply put, if a country is not doing at least as much exporting of goods and services as it is importing, a deficit arises.

This is a clear economic indicator that will have a negative impact on the value of the country’s currency.

Internal inflation or recession will also make a difference in the way the currency of a given country is valued.

Inflation in particular has the ability to cause currency to lose value. As a country enters into a period where inflation is rampant, the desirability of the currency will fall, as it is perceived as being less stable overall.

Because inflation lessens the purchasing power of a country internally, it is also seen as being a deficit in the ability to purchase goods and services from other countries.

As inflation is reined in and periods of mild recession come into play, the value of the currency will once again rise in comparison to other countries.

As with all facets of life, politics also can have a good effect on currency exchange rates, or it can bottom them out.

Changes in government personnel that are viewed in a negative light will very quickly reflect a devaluing of the country’s currency.

The same is true when the current government makes decisions that are perceived as not being in the best interests of the world community.

At the same time, an election that puts in office persons, who are esteemed to be favorable by the world community, can very quickly raise the value of that country’s currency, at least as long as those officials maintain their favorable status.

The fact of the matter is that quite a few factors that have to do with trading and the overall financial picture of a country will make a huge difference in how the country’s currency will fare on any given day.

Some factors may result in only temporary upward or downward trends, while others will be more long term in effect. One thing is for sure: the Forex market is never boring.

You can use the information above to make some good gains when you trade currencies

So why is currency day trading doomed to failure?

The reason is obvious - all moves in daily time frames are of a totally random nature. You simply cannot judge what millions of traders are going to do in minutes or hours, it’s ridiculous.

You Can’t Get the Odds in Your Favour!

There are no support or resistance levels that can be trusted, you can’t get the odds in your favour and that means a wipe out at some point.

There are however many vendors online who will tell you that you can win at day trading and they even present track records to prove it - but these track records are never real , just a back test.

Simply check the small print and you will find the words “simulated in hindsight” somewhere and that means - they have made no money for real and if you think a simulation, will give the same results in real time think again - it won’t.

If you want to trade with a short term strategy you need to get a time frame which gives you valid data and where you can use tools on currency trading charts which will work and the best method is - currency swing trading.

Currency Swing Trading V Day Trading

Currency swing trading systems rely on catching moves from a few days to about a week and they simply trade into overbought and oversold levels. Its simple to understand, gives you plenty of action and can be very profitable.

So forget about currency day trading systems and if you want to trade short term, get the odds on your side and use a swing trading system and you can enjoy currency trading success with it.
