Heading down through the Mindfields of Recollection

July 18th, 2010

To where do your musings visit when a person are sitting by yourself? Do the cats arrive and take them away as they purr and sidle up to you for a swift pet? Does the gardener whirl them away with his lawn mower, to send back them to you personally, shredded and incoherent as a handful of grass cuttings in your side yard ready for removal?

Where do those thoughts go as you are sitting staring at the monitor of your computer, the curser flashing impatiently up at you like a stop light in a small-scale mid-western village? Can you restore them and place them to good use- possibly to gather up the washing that is parked , like a mail order bride in a cut-rate catalogue page. I commonly wish that I could take a visit to those magical countries of indolence and procrastination in order to discover what I have already lost.

I find that some of my thoughts amble off by themselves with little guidance from me. I can be sitting at my desk with a wonderfully good train of thought running along when suddenly – bam- that train gets derailed into a sideline that then takes off for countries unidentified. I am normally left with a bemused appearance on my face – gathering back what odds and ends of my thought process have been left hanging on the bed rails.

The majority of of it is even now quite serviceable, simply demands an edge or two straightened out and sometimes a little bit of sleeve sprucing up to disguise the scuff marks it just acquired. I consider that if I add a small amount of new stray thought to the former ones, and probably modify the fundamental color of one or two images, no one actually knows the difference or will easily notice where in my tale that the whole thing suddenly established a life of its own and took off for parts not known.

Nevertheless, I have generally asked yourself if it would be possible to just retrieve those lost children of the mind and bring them home. It may be a sort of homecoming for the orphans of my thought processes that would encompass all the wanderings for the past forty years and give them a function.

But then again, I guess the whole contributing factor they wandered off in the beginning was a desire to find a purpose that wasn’t of my choosing. So they may not show up, even if specifically invited, to this type of gathering. So I imagine until I discover the key to that secret door, I will just have to wave them merrily good-bye and return to the pages I have on my computer. In the event that these people want to link up with me on almost any of my website blogs, they will have to find me at possibly my Hardwood Floors Installation site, or taking a look at Bandsaw Tools or probably come and pay a visit to me at my real estate site about Florida. Right up until then, they are by themselves!
