P90X Workout Equipment - What Is Demanded To Perform a P90X Workout Regimen?

The Must Have Pieces of Equipment for Your P90X Workout

So what type of equipment do you need to have on hand for a P90X workout? Here’s a little background information.

These 12 workouts were created by the guy behind the P90X workout program, Tony Horton, and can really help you get that beach body with a minimum amount of equipment and no need to head to a gym. You will not have to buy into a pricey Bio Force TNT or other gym equipment. Yet you will still be able to reach that fit body that you’ve been trying to find.

What makes P90X different than most other in-home workouts is that Tony Horton utilizes the muscle confusion principle. This is probably the first home workout advertised on an infomercial that has introduced America and for that matter the world, to this valid training protocol.

These 12 videos take you through a 12 week or 90 day program to get a lean and ripped body. You will actually find that it works well!

Here’s the list of equipment that you’ll need to complete your P90X regimen:

* A set of good quality resistance bands

- Chin up bar

* Push up stands or a perfect push-up

If you do not have resistance bands, dumbbells can work just fine as well. The down side to this is that you’ll need to buy multiple weights unless you want to stop your routine to change plates every time. The Bowflex Select Tech Dumbbells will work with this, but you have to spend a bit more.

For just under $400, you can get the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells, which can give you anywhere from 5 to approximately 54 pounds of resistance. On the other hand, a set of Bodylastics Terrel Owens resistance bands offer 5 pounds to 249 pounds of resistance. Also, these cost around $100, which is much less in comparison.

So whats the the best P90X needed equipment?

Resistance bands are my weapon of choice when it comes to workouts, due to the fact that they do not cost as much, and you can use them in more varied ways. If you’re looking for a good set of resistance bands. Either the Golds Gym Resistance Bands or the Bodylastics Home Gym will meet all your needs. Of the two the Bodylastics offers more options.

In regards to a chin up bar. There are some options here, if you’re looking for low-cost. You can use the resistance bands to do pull downs, instead of doing chin-ups or pull ups. Or you can purchase a simple doorway chin up bar for around $20, and it will work just as well as the $50 P90X chin-ups bar.

In terms of pushups, do you want a perfect pushup device or push up stands? The answer is both yes and no. The main reason to use either of these devices is to reduce the strain on your wrists so you can really push through on a deep push-up, but using two chairs will give you the same results. The nice thing about the perfect push-up and the stands are that they’re both relatively cheap and you should be able to find a set for $30 or less.

The incredible part is, that utilizing this type of equipment into your muscle confusion workouts makes complete sense from a space and money standpoint.

In terms of P90X workout equipment, that seems to run through all of your options; floor mats are also advisable if you want to perform ab exercises.
