Tips For A Hawaii Wedding

May 12th, 2010

Hawaii weddings are hard to beat for the ultimate in romance! If you are looking for a fabulous setting for your wedding, you will go a long way to beat Hawaii. Set in the ocean of romance, the Pacific Islands of Hawaii have everything you could ask for in a location for your wedding. Just like any other venue, however, you have to plan in advance, and using a professional wedding planner based in Hawaii is your best way of achieving the wedding you have always dreamed about.

Any destination wedding takes a lot of planning and Hawaiian weddings are no different. Simply getting everybody there on time is hard enough, but then you have the catering, the dress, the bridesmaids’ dresses and even the priest to get organized. And don’t forget the reception venue and the photographer and … miss out even one of these, and you will be left looking a bit embarrassed. Luckily the internet can help you.

Most people have no idea what is involved in getting married on an island so far away from the mainland. You have to organize the flowers, the venues for the ceremony and the reception - and if they aren’t the same, then you have the transportation between these to set up. In fact there are 101 things to get done at a time when you feel like just sitting down and crying. Most people don’t, of course, and just get on with it because they don’t have the time to think of themselves.

When it comes to the wedding dress and bride’s maid’s dresses you’ll need to have them flown to Hawaii. If you want, you can always purchase a ready-made wedding dress when you go to Hawaii to pick out the venue. You’ll have to be prepared for the fact that it might not fit you when you get there for your wedding though (you may have gained or lost weight in the time interval) - so have a backup dress just in case.

If you are going to mail the wedding dress and other wedding party outfits to Hawaii, do this about a week before the event. The last thing you want is for anything to be late or missing the day before the wedding. Make sure that the items are sealed properly and marked as important cargo. You will then need to arrange to have them steamed as soon as they arrive.

When planning Hawaiian weddings, it is advisable to speak to the staff of the hotel where you are holding your reception. If you are staying there overnight you should speak to them and get to know them. They will then be more amenable to helping you out when you have a problem, such as the best local wedding planner (the hotel can also likely help) or any other issue you have with your wedding.

Another thing you should consider is using a local photographer. They know the best areas and will be able to offer advice as to where you’ll want to do your photo sessions.
