What Is The Future Of Photography?
Computers are getting faster and more powerful every month, yet digital cameras are languishing behind, but they are advancing even if it is at a slower pace, and in the next few years I think we are going to see some great new technology. I don’t think we are going to see more megapixels, we don’t need any more in our normal non-SLR cameras now, we have enough for most situations, but I do think we are going to see a lot more options and some changes in the hardware.
The memory cards that we use in cameras at the moment are certainly something that could be replaced. They have become popular because they are easy to use and are very small (now), but they are also extremely fragile and the most annoying thing is you need an adaptor to get the data off them and onto your computer.Hopefully in the future then they will develop something which uses a USB connection instead, then you can use that to connect to ther camera and also take it straight out of the camera and plug it into a USB port on your computer. 3D technology is advancing and that will make its way into our mainstream cameras (I think some high-end ones can do this already) but the problem with that is we need to be able to view them in 3D on our computers and TVs too.
I see a lot of technology to help us take better pictures coming as well. At the moment there are a lot of different settings to pick between and it can get confusing, hopefully in the future that will be simplified with the camera adjusting itself to take the best pictures based on the subject and lighting conditions etc. In just a few years time then the pink digital camera that I have at the moment is definitely going to need an upgrade.
